Reviving a number of vintage trains
In order to better accommodate the expanding tourist sector in Italy, the nation is refurbishing some of its older trains.

The trains are a part of a new brand that is named FS Treni Turistici Italiani, and they are separated into three distinct classes: lusso (luxury), espressi (express), and omnibus-regionali.
Beginning in 2024, the state-owned corporation Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane will be in charge of the operation of Italy’s long-distance rail routes, such as the Orient Express La Dolce Vita.
The omnibus-regionali services are a less expensive but more time-consuming alternative to the express services that offer speedy transit between major cities and tourist destinations. One example of this is a night train that travels through southern hotspots such as Milan and the Tuscan coast.
During the height of the ski season, a special kind of train known as a “cruise train” travels from Rome to Cortina d’Ampezzo in the northern Dolomiti Superski area. This train transports passengers to several ski resorts.
This package includes return transportation, which means that customers may depart on a Friday, spend the weekend skiing, and then be carried back to the city on the following Sunday.
The concepts
The original Orient Express trains, which are the most luxurious of the three lines that have been reinvented, were constructed by Georges Nagelmackers 150 years ago. These trains were the first of their kind in Europe.
Automobiles that have been restored are a celebration of the ethos of the 1960s, which was one of “glamour, joie de vivre, and creative fervor.” This ethos encapsulates the essence of “life, the spirit of freedom, wellness, and enjoyment,” and these automobiles are a celebration of this ethos.
Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran, both architects and designers, are the ones responsible for the new advancements. They are both a part of the architectural and design organization known as Dimorestudio.
There are a total of 18 suite cabins available, each of which comes equipped with a master bedroom, a private bathroom, and a multitude of cushy sofas and rockers.
Patterns and themes from the 20th century have been used to decorate the space, which has hues of orange, terracotta, and purple. Additionally, room service is offered.
The exceptional deluxe accommodations
In the meanwhile, the exceptional deluxe accommodations have a sofa that opens out into a double bed, elevating them to the next rung above the standard rooms. A coffee table or additional sitting may both be accomplished with the help of the footstool.
